Mark Fewer, conductor and violin *
- Antonio Vivaldi – Concerto for Violin in E Flat Major “Tempesta di mare”, Op. 8, No. 5, RV 253 *
- George Antheil – Serenade for Strings
- Miles Davis – Obsessed (a medley of So What, My Funny Valentine and Nardis, arranged by Mark Fewer)
- Duke Ellington – Don’t Mean a Thing (arranged by Mark Fewer)
To close out the 2011-2012 season on a fanciful note, Mark Fewer, former concertmaster with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, puts his virtuosity and eclecticism on full display with a presentation of Vivaldi’s Tempesta di mare Concerto and his very own arrangements of Miles Davis and Duke Ellington classics.
