A Choral Celebration to close out I Musici’s Season

Friday, May 24, 2013, 7:30 p.m., Maison symphonique de Montréal

The closing concert of the Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal’s 2012-2013 season takes place at the Maison symphonique on May 24, 2013, under the direction of Jean-Marie Zeitouni. A bona fide French-style Choral Celebration, the program will feature works by Ravel, Fauré, Debussy, Canteloube, Chausson and Duruflé. To mark the occasion, I Musici will see its roster increased to 36 musicians, in addition to being accompanied by the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal’s vocal ensemble as well as organist and pianist François Zeitouni, mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne and baritone Phillip Addis.

Jean-Michel Malouf and I Musici close the curtain on the 2012-2013 Ogilvy Series with a program featuring works by Janacek, Suk and Dvorak

Members of the Czech school of music will headline the next Ogilvy concert series presented by I Musici de Montréal, titled Drovak and his Heirs. Conductor in residence Jean-Michel Malouf will direct the orchestra’s musicians as they offer a program made up of works by Janacek, Suk and Dvorak.

Concert prestige

The MIMC is proud to present Concert prestige, a benefit performance bringing together world-renowned violinist Maxim Vengerov, young cellist Stéphane Tétreault, Radio-Canada Revelation 2011-2012, as well as pianist Serhiy Salov, the MIMC first prize winner in 2004. The Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal and its Principal Conductor and Artistic Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni will join the trio for Beethoven’s Triple concerto. Completing the programme, I Musici will perform Beethoven’s 7th Symphony. The concert will take place at the Maison symphonique de Montréal, on Monday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m.

The great Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman will be Jean-Marie Zeitouni’s guest as the Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal presents the next concert in its Downtown Series on Friday, April 5 at the Maison symphonique. Titled Loverstruck, this program in celebration of love will feature works by Rodion Chtchedrine, Gustav Mahler and Leonard Bernstein.

A taste of Grand Romanticism with italian pianist Benedetto Lupo

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Jean-Marie Zeitouni and the Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal will treat music lovers to a warm and sun-kissed program of romantic works for strings. Presented on February 15 and 16 at Bourgie Hall, the Grand Romanticism concert will feature works by Dvořák, Chopin, Sibelius, Wolf and Fuchs. The guest soloist will be none other than well known Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo, a true poet of the instrument.
