I Grandi Concerti Series

I Musici de Montréal catches fire in a series of exceptional concerts under the baton of Jean-Marie Zeitouni. The rich and seductive sonorities of the expanded orchestra take over Maison symphonique and Bourgie Hall at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, venues both beloved for their glorious acoustics. Sharing the stage with top-flight
guest artists and conductors, I Musici allows you to discover or rediscover the great classics, while revealing hidden treasures of the repertoire. Passion and grandeur await you.

L. Boccherini, La Musica Notturna delle strade di Madrid, Op. 30, No. 6
F.J. Haydn, Symphony No. 6 in D Major, « Le matin »
F.J. Haydn, Symphony No. 7 in C Major, « Le midi »
F.J. Haydn, Symphony No. 8 in G Major, « Le soir »

From dawn to dusk, Haydn takes us around the musical clock with three short symphonies. The first symphonic works written for his new patron, Prince Esterházy, this brilliant trio brings to light the talent, the inventiveness and the humour that will mark Haydn’s work throughout his career. Strings and woodwinds show off their virtuosity in this unique concert. To close, a trip to the Iberian Peninsula for a nocturnal celebration by Boccherini in the streets of Madrid.

90-120 minute concert including a 20-minute intermission.
