T here are few pianists with the recreative fantasy that Jean-Efflam Bavouzet brings to just about everything he plays.” (Gramophone) To close the season, the French pianist has created a concert featuring the Érard piano of the Salle Bourgie, complemented by the shimmering sonorities of I Musici. From the spirit of Haydn to Beethoven’s early romanticism, this program shows off the explosion of orchestral writing at the turn of the 19th century.
