One donation. One time. One cultural organization.

I Musici de Montréal

The first major cultural donation

Quebec has created an exceptional tax incentive for a once-in-a-lifetime gesture: supporting a single cultural organization in a meaningful way.

A first major cultural donation — a cash donation between $5,000 and $25,000 to an eligible Quebec cultural organization — qualifies for an additional 25% tax credit, on top of the standard charitable donation credits. On a $5,000 donation, that’s $1,250 added to the credits you already receive.

Example — a first major cultural donation of $5,000

  • Standard tax credits (federal + Quebec): approximately $2,614
  • Additional 25% credit for a first major cultural donation: $1,250
  • Total credits: approximately $3,864

The result: a $5,000 donation actually costs you only about $1,136 — meaning close to 77% of your donation is recovered through tax credits. *See the conditions of this example.

This credit can be claimed only once, for one cultural organization. That is what makes it a donation of choice rather than one donation among many.

And your donation is worth more than what you give.

Through the Quebec government’s Mécénat Placements Culture program, your donation is matched and endowed in perpetuity. It does not fund one season — it funds every season that follows.

Why I Musici ?

I Musici de Montréal is a collectively led orchestra. Every member listens as much as they contribute to shaping each interpretation. This model produces a sound that is ours alone, built entirely on stability, trust, and shared artistic responsibility.

Your donation allows I Musici de Montréal to:

  • Present concerts of the highest calibre;
  • Support artists and new creation;
  • Develop educational projects;
  • Make classical music accessible to a wider audience;
  • Ensure the orchestra’s reach across Quebec and internationally.

Let’s talk.

A first major donation deserves careful thought. It’s something to discuss and shape around your circumstances — we’re here to support you every step of the way.
